Finance
Clear books that the whole committee can trust, kept the way a mosque works: funds, approvals and a second pair of eyes.
Donations and income
Record donations, Jumu’ah collections and other income into the right fund, and give receipts.
Counting sheets
Open a sheet for the Jumu’ah collection or a donation box, count it, and post the total to its fund.
Expenses with approvals
Officers request expenses with a receipt attached. Your mosque sets how many approvals each amount needs.
Funds and heads
Keep restricted money such as Zakat, Sadaqat al-Fitr, Waqf and building funds apart, under your own income and expense heads.
Dues and chanda
Set up regular dues. Arrears are worked out from the books, and members can report a payment for an officer to confirm.
Payroll
Keep staff records. One person prepares the monthly run, another approves it, and it is paid as one entry.
Petty cash
Give a float, log small spends, and settle them into the books.
Bank accounts
Track cash and bank accounts, moves between them, and reconcile each month against the statement.
Corrections, not edits
Entries are never changed. A correction needs a reason and a second officer, and both records stay in the ledger.
Month close and budgets
Close each month with a second person’s sign-off, and compare the year’s budget with what was spent.
Many currencies
Each mosque has a main currency and can accept other currencies at a recorded rate.
Transparency for members
Choose how much members see on the mosque’s board, from monthly totals to fund balances and each entry.
